Membership of Badminton England

There has been some doubt as to whether membership of Badminton England is optional or not.

Cathy Hunt, our Secretary, contacted the Association and found out the following:

• All clubs who play within a badminton league have to be members of Badminton England.
• Registration is online and can be done from 13th October ( not before as the system is being updated ).
• All your players must be registered, but membership is only paid once, so if that player pays their membership through another club, in a different league, then that information will show on the system.
• Sports liability insurance is included, but not personal accident insurance.

Roving Reporter

The Blackburn Badminton league have a roving reporter for the 2014/2015 season!

She’ll be attending games throughout the season so please give her a warm welcome and check back on the website for her reports.

Lancashire Badminton Fees

Lancashire Badminton fees for the coming season are £3.00 per player (Junior and Senior alike).

These should be forwarded to the Secretary, Cathy Hunt, 550 Whalley New Rd, Blackburn, BB1 9AU as soon as possible and before the deadline of October 31st.

Please note the following:

• Cheques should be made payable to Lancashire County Badminton Association
• A list of players should accompany the fees
• The fees are chargeable for each Lancashire League that you play in

AGM Date – Tuesday 16th June 2015

The AGM has been booked for Tuesday 16th June 2015, same venue as normal (East Lancs Cricket Club).

Important New Season Info

Unfortunately, Blackburn Harpoons A and Roefield B have had to withdraw from the League. This means that divisions 1 and 3 will have spare weeks where they should have played these teams.

Also, on the new-style score sheets for this season , the conversion for bonus points has been omitted. Club secretaries may wish to make a note of these on the score sheets so as to facilitate match night maths!

AGM Reminder

Just a reminder to all clubs the League AGM will be held at East Lancs Cricket Club Blackburn on Tuesday 17 June 2014.

7.15pm when voting papers etc will be handed out.

All clubs should attend taking note of rule 5c.

Summer Practice @ Norden

Summer practices at Norden on a Wednesday night have started again, please contact Ric Smith for details.

End Of Season

The end of the season has arrived and the last three results are in and the final league tables have been confirmed.

The Blackburn Times Cup was played on Thursday 1 May at Audley Sports Center between Telecom A and Blackburn Seniors C.

The result was:

Telecom A 378
Blackburn Seniors C 325 1/2.

Tickets are on sale for the Presentation Night Saturday 24 May at the Adelaide Suit price £13 adult £10 junior under 18.

Blackburn Presentation Evening – Reminder

A reminder that the Blackburn League presentation is on 24th May at the Adelaide Suite in Accrington from 7pm. Tickets are £13 each and £10 for juniors.
